The Eastern Eye Arts, Culture and Theatre awards were created last year to recognise the enormous contribution artists of South Asian heritage make to the British arts scene in general.
It seeks to spotlight the very best of Asian talent in the UK and provide it with the platform it so richly deserves.
There are 21 categories of awards up for grabs in May 2017. These cover a wide range of artistic sectors and include among others, Artist of the Year, Dancer of the Year, Musician Book of the Year, Production of the Year, Comedy of the Year and so forth.
In line with other movements, organisations and individuals, currently seeking to bring a better representation of Britain’s Asian, Black, and other Minority ethnic groups across the arts, the ACTAs has been created to encourage and inspire all underrepresented ethnic groups and join hands with others seeking to influence positive change and attitudes.
The Eastern Eye Arts, Theatre & Culture Awards are organised by the Asian Media & Marketing Group, the publishers of Eastern Eye and Garavi Gujarat news weekly.
